Blackcaps versus Bangladesh at Seddon Park recap

Our Blackcaps have played two tests against Bangladesh at Seddon Park, in December 2001 and again in February 2010. Suffice to say we won both handsomely (2001 by an Innings and 52 runs, 2010 by 121  runs).

Notable stats from those tests

2001

Mark Richardson - 143
Craig McMillan  106
Shane Bond 4/47
Chris Cairns  7/53

2010

Martin Guptill  189
Brendon McCullum  185
Bowling stats shared, no stand outs.

So for Test Three there between the two teams?

Judging by this Bangladesh team it's going to be another whitewash.  We have batting potential right down to 7 and a very well balanced bowling attack.  I think the Deshies need a bit of luck with the toss but Kane has been on the money lately.  I think Kane will use his side and back himself to bat first and bat themselves into a great position.

Then again the sporting Gods can turn the tables.

Seddon Park - Hamiltron - Tosses from 1991

Wondered about toss details in Hamilton?  Test Match Cricket started there in 1991 versus Sri Lanka.  The the ensuing years there have been 23 tests and the 24th is about to unfold with the West Indies rolling the arm over tomorrow.

Below is a spreadsheet I have manufactured showing all the matches and toss details and match results.  Very interesting mixed results thoroughout.

23 matches where NZ have win 8 tosses, electing to bat twice and field 6 times.

All teams have selected to Field 17 times and Bat 6 times.  The results aren't clear cut on toss selections.

Those results for Us are 10 wins overall, 7 Draws and 6 losses.  Recent results have reversed record trends and our W/L ratio is getting healthy again.

The stats.

Seddon Park Hamilton - 21 tests stats.

Some Seddon Park stats.  21 tests since becoming a test cricket venue with 9 matches won by New Zealand Blackcaps, 6 drawn and 6 lost.

There have been no matches played before 16th December so it's fair to say stats are inconsequential when highlighting previous records.

Below are the 9 matches won by Blackcaps and once again the stats don't seem to indicate any patterns which would be seasonal due to players in and out.
