Labour's Dark Horse

So he has put his hand up for the Leaders job.  Fact or folly?  Well, if chosen, Jones is likely to give one thing they have been sadly lacking lately, the Maori vote.  How many disaffected Maori voters will dump the Maori Party if they knew it was possible a Maori would be the next Prime Minister?

That's a huge call yes, but a realistic one.  So what else does Jones have in his favour?  Well of the three vying for the position he seems to be the most forthright and honest.  Neither Cunliffe nor Roberston have balls, in fact if anything they don't have charisma either.  Jones does, in fact has both.  Of course this is my opinion as garnered by media coverage only, as I have no real knowledge of all three candidates personally, but like the rest of New Zealand, watching the Labour circus one gets the impression they desperately need not only a strong leader but one that is capable of reuniting the party and giving it drive heading into an election next year.  Jones appears then to be the only choice for Labour.

I foresee that if either Cunliffe or Robertson win the position then Labour's woes will increase and place them in a position where voters will off load and go to other parties (Greens)!!

Yes Jones is my man if a Labour voter or a fringe voter.  Warranted I will never vote for either, but I do like races where there is competition and I'm surmising Jones Led Labour will do the business next year.  Yes backed by Maori again Labour might just pull it off.  How cool would it be to have a PM stand in Parliament debating in Te Reo?  Will he also usurp Winston.
