THe Team that Time Forgot

OK let's use 2012/13 as a learning curve.  It's a given we have two teams within a team.  One team by and large does it's job (though  missing Southee would add extra wickettaking ability and Patel's gone for my mind)  The other Team continues to uninspire.  Guptill and McCullum ARE NOT SPECIALIST OPENERS.  Williamson IS NOT A SPECIALIST THREE.  Flynn has proved time and again he's out of his depth - Gone.  Brownlie has promise.

Bite the Bullet NZC and Mike Hesson.  Changes need to be made now not for the sake of the team, but for the sake of reputation and results.  Admit that we won't be able to foot it with England and trial the following batting lineup as a means of starting to get some order into the chaos.

The solution is simple (and yes I have said this before).  A fit 2MP partnering A Redmond.  If either one or the other fail repeatedly over the England series, blood Rutherford for future matches - he's the future.

Guptill needs to sit at 3, he's a natural there.

Taylor will bat 4, guaranteed though where his headspace with the team sits is anyone's guess but if he's professional enough he'll get back on track.

5!!  NZC and Mike Hesson HAVE TO move mountains and I don't care if they offer him more money than the captain to play, Get Jesse back for the sake of NZC, Jesse, and the adoring NZ public.

6  Williamson better suited to this position, at the expense of Brownlie and Flynn.  Brownlies day will come

And Watling fills 7 (no objections anyone?)

BUT WAIT - I HEAR YOU ALL CRYING OUT - WHERE'S BMAC!!  Sorry I know he's just been handed the Captaincy, but he's not performing.  The talented block/basher of two to three years ago has gone missing with the bat.  I haven't had a look at his figures for those years but just guessing I'd say he'd be lucky to average 20 - 25.  Is that good enough for a top order player?  Marginal at best for a middle order batsman.  UNLESS he takes up the gloves again to retain the Captaincy (sorry BJ)
