Power Saving Tips.

With winter nearing time to look at saving electricity in the household.  Strangely the biggest usage of power in the household is the Humble Jug.  Most folks fill up a 4 cup Jug for each boil, even for one cup. So 3 cups get boiled on each fill. For each boil 3 cups repeatably gets boiled.  Over time the three cups gets repeatably boiled.  Imagine the power you save by boiling just one cup.

Heat Pumps, Heaters, bar heaters.  Turn your device on and heat rooms for 30 minutes.  The rooms will be warm enough to turn the heat device off.

The Dryer can be saved by instead putting damp clothes in a small room (Bathroom) and use the Dehumidifier overnight. Save washing for a full load.  One full load is cheaper then multiple small loads.

Only use lighting inside when using it.  And if you have other devices (washing machine, stove etc) turn them off the items at the wall.

Get those window and door seals sorted.  No point in heating repeatedly if cold air is making your heating obsolete.

Last but not least.  Showering.  Instead of having that 10 minute shower halve that time and you'll save plenty in Hot Water.

To add:- My Nova Energy account including Broadband equates to around $120.00 per month.
